Thunderstorm activity with extremely high winds moved through the Campbellsville area early Thursday evening, July 5th. According to Ronnie Dooley with Taylor County Emergency Management the storm path started on Highway 210 just east of 883 and continued about 3.5 miles south – southeast through Campbellsville and ended just north of Highway 55 South and 3183. Dooley said the damage path was about 3 miles west to east. Some damage was reported to homes and automobiles in the Forest Hills subdivision. Also reported was damage to the roof of the Amazon distribution center building and the roof of the Campbellsville Independent School Board building, both on South Columbia Avenue in Campbellsville. The scoreboard at the Campbellsville High School football field was blown over and a tree reportedly fell on a Taylor County Sheriff’s Office cruiser. A lot of debris from downed trees and tree damage was reported as well.
